WhatsApp transcripts vs MemoIA: which to use?
Now that WhatsApp transcribes voice notes, it's fair to ask what MemoIA is for. The short answer: WhatsApp gives you the text; MemoIA gives you what matters.
The difference in one example
Your builder sends a voice note of almost four minutes. WhatsApp's transcript gives you everything he said, word for word: about three minutes of reading, with all the ums and detours of speech. MemoIA replies with this:
Summary
• Work starts on Monday the 6th at 8am.
• The quote goes up by €240 because of the old pipes.
• You need to choose the tiles by Friday.
Original
Morning! So, I've had a proper look at the bathroom…

When WhatsApp's transcripts are enough
- You get few voice notes, and short ones.
- You want the text just for yourself, with nothing in the chat.
- You don't need to find what was said later.
When MemoIA makes a difference
- You get long voice notes every day, especially for work.
- You talk to people in other languages.
- You want a list of what was agreed and to find an amount or a date later, without listening all over again.
- You read your messages on a computer.
What to know before linking MemoIA
- The reply appears in the chat and your contact sees it. In a chat where you don't want that, type /stop.
- The link is not an official WhatsApp one, and WhatsApp may restrict accounts that use services like this. We explain everything in the Terms of use.
- Voice notes aren't kept: they're deleted after the reply. See the Privacy policy.
